Guilt has a God-given purpose.

My wife shared this recently so I am going to use her intro. Lamons' recent message could have been titled, I think, "Guilt: Intended by God". Guilt actually is a good thing if it's warranted. It can motivate us to change something that has disrupted our relationship with someone else or worse than that, separation between us and God. Thankfully, repentance is the way back to peace and restoration. I'm so thankful that God, in His wisdom, designed us to feel guilt when we mess up. He is so loving and merciful and wants us to be able to come back into His presence where we can, as someone once said, have "Peace with our past, joy in the present, and hope for the future". Ignoring our guilt, drives us farther from others and from God. I hope some will take the time to listen to this talk and hopefully glean from it.
